SPECIAL INTERESTS: Pre & Post Operative Rehabilitation, Aged Care, Community Physio, Human Performance Optimisation (Occupational)
Tye grew up in the Bywong area just outside of Canberra on a small hobby farm. A keen horse rider she competed in multiple disciplines within Pony Club, with Australian Stock Horses & in open competition. This led to a Bachelor of Management (Equine Business) from University of Sydney. She then joined the Australian Regular Army transferring to the Standby Reserves in 2014 to pursue a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at University of Canberra. She has worked in private practice as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist & in aged care as a community physiotherapist.
Tye developed a keen interest in injury prevention as a young equestrian, during her initial Army training at RMC-Duntroon and later as an instructor, believing strongly in the notion of 'train smarter not harder’. This grew to include rehabilitation to maximise function pre & post injury, disease or disorder as she was exposed to the reality of Service life, hence the career change.
Tye loves the outdoors enjoying horse riding, snow skiing, hiking, mountain bike riding & travelling both around Australia and overseas, particularly the fantastic ski fields of Canada.
