Michael is a senior physiotherapist at Southside Physio Woden. He obtained his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy at Sydney University in 2007 and is an APA titled Sports Physiotherapist. He has a particular interest in treating shoulder injuries, orthopaedic rehabilitation of shoulder and knee operations, dance related injuries and implementing preventative exercise programmes for dancers. Michael is passionate about working with his clients to not only get to the cause of their problem and treat it, but decide how to prevent further occurrences.
Originally from Sydney, Michael has been working in sports injury clinics since 2004. Over the years, Michael has been a physiotherapist for the Eastwood Rugby Club, Australian Women’s Rugby 7s squad, and Australian Baseball League team the Canberra Calvary. He has forged strong relationships with directors of numerous dance schools across Canberra.
Michael is committed to ongoing professional development so he can provide his clients with the most up to date care and treatment options. In recent years, he has completed courses including real time ultrasound muscle retraining, hand splinting, dance injury management, and the highly regarded Level 3 Sports Physiotherapy Course. He is also qualified in advanced dry needling.
In his time away from the clinic Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, and watching rugby and musical theatre.
