+ Women Exercise is an exercise physiology class focused on helping females during a variety of women’s health conditions and their fitness journey.

This class is for all women, including those experiencing conditions such as menopause, fertility issues, endometriosis, PCOS, and more. It is designed to support you through the Climacteric life stage- The 5 years leading up to and following menopause (typically around age 40 and beyond). Whether you’re managing hormonal shifts, fertility challenges, or chronic conditions, this class offers a holistic approach to improving your health, fitness, and strength during this transformative period.

Who is this class suited for?

  • Women in the Climacteric life stage (around 40+ years old, or within 5 years before or after menopause)
  • Women experiencing menopausal symptoms (such as hot flushes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances)
  • Those who want to improve health, fitness, weight management, and bone mineral density during this life stage
  • Women with conditions like PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), endometriosis, or those navigating fertility challenges
  • Women looking to maintain strength, manage weight, and improve overall well-being during hormonal transitions

How will exercise benefit me?

  • Maintain a healthy body weight and promote weight management during hormonal shifts, especially important for those with PCOS or metabolic concerns
  • Preserve and improve bone mineral density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis (particularly important during menopause)
  • Reduce falls and fracture risk, a common concern with ageing and hormonal changes
  • Reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic syndromes
  • Support fertility and hormonal balance, with exercise shown to help regulate hormones and improve ovarian function in women with PCOS
  • Alleviate symptoms of endometriosis, such as pelvic pain and inflammation, by improving blood flow and reducing stress
  • Improve cognitive function, promoting better mental clarity and focus, which can be affected by hormonal changes
  • Enhance overall quality of life, including improved mood, energy, and physical confidence

How will the class run?

  • 60-minute session tailored to specific women’s health conditions, with modifications for all fitness levels
  • Group Warm-up: Light cardiovascular exercises and movement (indoors or outdoors, weather dependent)
  • Bone Loading & Strength Circuit: Exercises designed to build muscle strength and improve bone health, with suitable progressions and regressions for women experiencing menopause, PCOS, endometriosis, or fertility challenges
  • Group Cool Down: Stretching, relaxation, and gentle movements to promote recovery, flexibility, and stress relief

How do I begin?

  • Initial Assessment with an Exercise Physiologist to evaluate your baseline fitness and create a personalized plan that accounts for specific health conditions (menopause, PCOS, endometriosis, etc.)
  • Initial Assessment with a Dietitian to develop a tailored nutrition strategy that aligns with your exercise goals and health needs, such as managing symptoms
  • Special Offer: When signing up for the class block, receive a $10 discount on both the Exercise Physiology and Dietitian Initial Assessments
