Carlos is a Spanish-trained Occupational Therapist who completed his Bachelor’s degree in 2020, followed by a Master’s in Evidence-Based Occupational Therapy in 2021, with a strong focus on neurological rehabilitation and upper limb recovery. During his studies, he gained experience working with paediatric clients diagnosed with autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, global developmental delay, and genetic disorders. Neurological rehabilitation quickly became a key clinical interest, and he remains passionate about helping individuals regain function, maximise independence, and achieve meaningful personal goals through evidence-based therapy.
Since moving to Australia in 2023, Carlos has developed a solid understanding of the NDIS, supporting clients to work toward greater independence via clear, time-bound goals. He has assisted individuals in accessing Supported Independent Living (SIL), enhancing daily living skills across home, school, and work environments, and advocating for client needs with evidence-based approaches. His experience also spans physical rehabilitation for older adults recovering from hip fractures, traumatic brain injuries, and managing degenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s. Highly organised and committed to engaging, client-centred sessions, Carlos strives to deliver therapy that respects each individual’s pace and story.
While continuing to develop his expertise in chronic pain, he has already gained practical experience working with people facing its complex biopsychosocial challenges, and remains dedicated to further learning in this area. Outside work, you’ll often find Carlos enjoying Australia’s great outdoors, camping, hiking, kayaking, snorkelling, or climbing, and when Canberra’s chill sets in, he loves swapping his hiking boots for a blanket, a good film, or live music shared with family and friends.
